What is Prolotherapy? Prolotherapy is a new and wonderful form of therapy that helps many types of chronic pain. The word “Prolo” means new growth, hence, new growth or regenerative therapy. It involves injections of natural substances into painful areas like the neck and back, arms and legs. The body responds to the injections by building new tissue in the painful areas. This is done through growth factors secreted by the immune system through natural inflammatory pathways. The body is able to repair itself through this stimulus which recruits fibroblasts, similar to stem cells, generating new collagen.
Collagen is the basic building block of connective tissues in the body, which include tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, cartilage and skin. The new collagen generated will strengthen the back and neck, arms and legs and heal degenerative arthritis and tendonitis. Thus, Prolotherapy is the rehabilitation of a damaged or weak structure, such as a ligament or tendon, by the induced proliferation of fibroblasts, which repairs connective tissues by generating collagen, like human glue.
What is Prolotherapy useful for? Most patients coming to the clinic have chronic low back and neck pain, shoulder and knee arthritis, sports injuries and many other types of musculoskeletal pain including TMJ, fibromyalgia, herniated discs, sciatica, partially torn ligaments and tendons.
What is Neural Therapy? It is a treatment of dysfunction(s) within the autonomic nervous system. Two physicians, Walter and Ferdinand Huneke, developed NT in Germany in the early part of the 20th century. Neural Therapy treatments typically involve the injection of scars, glands, trigger points, acupuncture points, vascular structures, ligaments and autonomic ganglia with procaine, lidocaine, and/or homeopathic remedies.
What is Mesotherapy? From Greek mesos, "middle", and therapy from Greek therapeia, "to treat medically". Mesotherapy is an alternative medicine intended to stimulate the repair of the tissues called by its exponents the "mesoderm", including the skin, connective tissue, and adipose tissue. It involves the injection of chemicals, vitamins, and other random products into the "mesoderm" fat, just under the skin, to treat various ailments especially in subcutaneous fat, to reduce the fat or improve cellulite.
Mesotherapy is part of a branch of medicine called homotoxicology which is purported to encourage the body to stimulate its own healing processes in order to cure ailments. It can be used for pain as well as for general medical conditions. This non-scientific procedure originated in France, and is now promoted by some practitioners in the United States.
How does the Papimi device work? With any other conventional method, those inductive electric fields would have been unable to penetrate a tissue from outside, because the conductive surface of a tissue (according to Gauss's Law) constitutes a shield, known as "Faraday's Cage". An electromagnetic field does not penetrate deeply into a tissue, because of the known epidermic phenomenon or "Skin Effect". Therefore, the only possible way for the penetration of the electromagnetic energy into a tissue, seems to be the use of the patented principle of the PAP IMI device.
